Ronald McDonald House Charities Alberta supports families seeking vital medical treatment for their sick or injured child. Our warm, compassionate Houses provide a home-away-from-home for families who need to travel for medical reasons.
Currently, we are serving only 14% of families who need to travel for pediatric care in our Province. We need to help more, so we are expanding! The proposed expansions in Calgary and Edmonton will nearly triple the amount of currently available suites, providing an additional 45,000 nights of comfort. Construction on the Calgary House is well underway. In order to complete this expansion, a temporary closure is required as of October 1, 2024.
As we know this can be a challenge to families who are already facing enormous amounts of stress, we have provided a list of hotels who provide compassionate rates.
We will open the doors to our expanded facility in early 2025 and will be accepting families to stay at the newly expanded and refinished Ronald McDonald House in Calgary.
