Preparing a meal can be a stressful task after spending a long and potentially emotional day at the hospital. Thanks to our generous volunteers, the House can reduce this stress for families. Through Home for Dinner, a group of volunteers provide for families staying at the House. Duties include cooking, cleaning up, and packaging any leftovers.
If your group is interested in volunteering with the Home for Dinner program, we ask that one group member create an account and submit an application through our VolunteerHub portal using the following link for your respective House.
Beginning August 1st, donations to support the Home for Dinner experience will be necessary to ensure the sustainability of the program due to increased capacity at Calgary’s Ronald McDonald House.
This donation provides volunteers with a much easier and more relaxed volunteer experience as the modernized Home for Dinner program will be chef led. The chef will plan your menu, secure your groceries, and lead your group through an entire Home for Dinner experience that will feed upwards of 200 people staying at the Ronald McDonald House.
What to Expect
Once your application has been processed, we will contact you with confirmation your application has been approved at which point you will be able to sign up for available meal dates. You will receive an Orientation email prior to your selected meal date with details like where to park and what to wear.”
Without volunteers like you, we would not be able to provide a comfortable, home-like atmosphere for our families. Thank you for your interest in volunteering with RMHC Alberta.
